What is Abrasive Flow Machining
The process is a controllable low pressure process which directs a back and
forth flow of abrasive-laden media across surfaces selected for finishing.
Work pieces are held in a fixture, which is designed to direct the media
across selected edges, surfaces and internal passages. Abrasive Flow
Machining provides an ulta-smooth surface finish, increases luster of both
external and internal passages, removes recast layers often left behind by
thermal machining. The process is also capable of removing feather edges
from small parts, produces pronounced radii of predetermined dimensions,
deburrs and removes flash.
